Concord Baptist Church (second) moves to a new building.
1946
The congregation moves to the former United Presbyterian Church at 190 Warren Avenue. The building is badly damaged by a fire on November 2, 1975, but restored in 1977. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. serves as guest minister here while a student at Boston University. His father speaks here on April 29, 1968, almost a month after his son’s assassination. The congregation subsequently moves to Mattapan. The Warren Avenue building is subsequently converted to condominiums.
